but the cash prize varries depending on how much the company puts up for it.
Here is a example CONTEST DESCRIPTION
In this free contest, your task is to design a logo for Haywards London, a new company in the UK which sells very high quality fashionable shirts to a demanding clientèle.
The chosen logo will appear on clothing labels, websites, promotional materials and business stationery.
PRIZES
* The top entry that the client chooses will receive $300*.
* The top voting winner will get 100 credits.
(the Credits can be turned into cash and sent to your paypal or you can pay money to get more credits to enter some contests)
You need to follow the cliants rules because this is pretty much freelancing for yourself so you need to know what they want. good thing they tell you.
CLIENT RULES
* The logo must be one color only and broadly simple enough that it can be stitched into a normal shirt label and still be recognizable.
* The logo will be suffixed with the words "Haywards London" wherever it is used so if you have a suggestion for a font please feel free to include this text.
* Entries may not contain gradients.
* The new logo should communicate classic European style and a fine tailoring pedigree which represents outstanding quality and sharp fashion. Companies in a similar market include
[link], duchamplondon.com, smythandgibson.com and thomaspink.com.
* Haywards London are open to almost any idea but are very keen on a bold crest design, possibly based around a large letter 'H'. They particularly like the logo on boggi.it and are also keen on the color scheme, gold on dark blue. Care should be taken that the new logo will not be mistaken for that which appears on hermes.com or, of course, any other big fashion brand.
* You may not display presentations of the logo (i.e. business cards, letterhead examples) directly in the image file that you upload as your entry. You may upload these to your media folder and link to them separately from your author comments. If you violate this rule, you risk disqualification.
* A Serif font may be used. Please upload your font to your corporate files area.
* Before entering this contest you must read this thread.
and then the general rules for the site.
GENERAL RULES
* Please upload your vector file (.ai or .eps) or high resolution photoshop files with all layers and elements intact (.psd), to the corporate files attachment area at the time you submit an entry (you will be prompted after uploading your image).
* Do not enter slight variations of your logo as separate entries. Enter them as a single entry.
* Fancy background presentation is not allowed. Solid color backgrounds, that's it.
* Please leave some white space at the bottom of your entry so the worth1000 watermark doesn't overlap it.
* Any questions about what is desired by the client may be sent to corporateworth1000.com.
* The client will be granted the full rights to all aspects of the submission of their choice as a work-for-hire in exchange for the prize mentioned above.
I hope this info helps all of you peeps!
